Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 vehicles have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.
Law enforcement say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.
The liquid had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Officers then located multiple other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws banning the public display of Nazi symbols.
Officials state preliminary tests indicate the substance was most likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no lead as to its source; officials are currently not informed of any physical harm in association with the occurrence," they added.
Local authorities said they were working "to unravel the case" and have requested to the public for tips.
An important representative said the attack left him speechless and had to be addressed quickly.
"This event strikes at the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on residents of migrant background in five years prior.
