I'll dominate 'credible fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making massive paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly happening.
